These individuals have faithfully served Spectrum, (many for quite a few years), as board members and are rolling off of our board at this time. We wanted to recognize each of them for their valuable contributions to Spectrum.

They are definitely stars in our organization, donating their time, talents and resources to contribute to our success!

Denise Nielson says:

It’s been such a pleasure and honor to serve with Spectrum over the past 10+ years. I started as a parent looking for services for a son on the spectrum, then started volunteering with my family, and then found myself on the board! It’s been so amazing to see Spectrum grow as an organization. In the early days it was just us parents volunteering together towards our common goal of supporting those with autism in our community. Now we have a full-time Executive Director, paid staff, and an active board of parents and professionals serving alongside each other in support of Spectrum’s mission. I’m looking forward to staying active with Spectrum and seeing where the next 10 years take them.

Julia Massey says::

I became involved with Spectrum when my youngest son was diagnosed with Autism in preschool about 22 years ago. I feel like I am retiring from the Spectrum Board of Directors after serving for over 20 years. Over the years,
Spectrum has been a big part of my family’s life and as my children have grown up. I have participated and volunteered with many of Spectrum‘s family events, meetings, Mom’s Day Out, Georgia Race for for Autism, Family camp, and more over the years. I have suggested different types of activities and groups to meet their needs and Spectrum has always met the challenge. While having a child or children with Autism is not an easy thing to deal with, having Spectrum there to help with advice, programs and friendships has made it easier.
