Spectrum Super Star October 2016

CONGRATS to this month's Spectrum Super Star!

Tricia Gleghorn and Deborah LaFave

We are happy to recognize Tricia and Deb as our October 2016 Spectrum Super Stars of the month!

Tricia GleghornDeb and Tricia are both former Spectrum board members who have made valuable contributions to Spectrum through the years! We are extremely grateful for their input, many volunteer hours and involvement in the implementation of Spectrum’s many activities and programs.

Tricia says: As the mother of a child with autism, I am grateful to be a part of Spectrum. I have appreciated the social activities for my family, the sharing of great and practical information and most of all the wonderful network of people who are on a similar journey. Spectrum has been an incredible resource for my family and I for many years.

I have been blessed by my participation in Spectrum and am honored to have been on the board for the last few years. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served with such a hard working group of volunteers who are committed to helping Spectrum be the resource that it is to the community. These individuals give much of their time and heart to be able to add value to individuals and families impacted by autism. I am thrilled to have developed meaningful friendships and an appreciation for every person on the board. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of something that is making a significant positive difference in our world. You are difference makers!

Deborah LaFaveDeb says: My son, Sean, was first diagnosed at the tender age of 2 and I started attending Spectrum support group meetings soon after. I quickly saw my need for this organization and felt a connection to all the other parents on the same journey. I could see the passion the founding individuals had for helping parents and spreading the word. I started attending the leadership meetings and soon volunteered to help where I could, well, as best as one can with little ones around.

Fast forward to today and Sean is now 20 years old. Time does fly. Sean has spent his childhood attending Spectrum programs. Programs that would not exist if not for the commitment of so many parents, professionals, and volunteers that have given of their time and talent. It has been a privilege to serve the organization throughout the years and as treasurer for the past five years. Together we have made a difference in so many lives. Thank You!

Thank you Tricia and Deb for your support of Spectrum!
